SENIOR PET CLUB

Although we all like to feel that our pet is in his or her prime, pets over eight years old are considered senior and more likely to develop certain medical problems.

Many owners are not concerned when their elderly pet shows signs of reduced appetite, weight loss, increased drinking, exercise intolerance, tiredness or stiffness as it is assumed that it is "just old age".

But often the signs are the result of a more serious medical problem. Modern advances in early detection, diagnosis and treatment of many diseases such as kidney disease, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, arthritis and senile changes will result in an improved quality of life and increased life expectancy.
